I feel happier drawing ...than painting!....probably 'cause you always have a pen ...or pencil around...and it is usually spontaineous.... and quick! That is unless you are a pencil artist:hmm:where everything has to be tight ...and perfect....don't start me on that:D.............What do you think?....Ihave to go and do some food,,,so you can spend a while doing a detailed reply:D............IF YOU LIKE!!!!

I think I draw loosely good when I feel like it ,
when it's not a task but - play .
The tighter ones are usually the ones that I over-copy .
But , there's nothing wrong with copying at all as long as
you copied good . I'm pass that bit where I must nail it
because of the hammering ; except for tattooing of course .
And , there's no reason to be tight when I'm not restricted by anything - that applies well when I'm just composing or
designing something , ... inventing .
Also , .. I love painting . That's when I could cut some
fast magic . A good size wall would not take me long
to cover when I'm psyched to paint .
It's my big drawing space without sketching .
But I love sculpting - most of all , in terms of working
with my hands , which I don't have the opportunity to do
these days .

I know what you mean ...about sculpting........I have done a little...and it was soooo satisfying....I loved the fact that I could mould the clay(lovely feeling) into something viewable from different angles!....Did you do large things......and what did you use?
:iconoscillatesalot:
I do loose stuff and people think I'm 12 years old. I do tight stuff and people think I'm mature but I just can't draw. So I'm thinking my artistic age is between 12 and 22. Doing art, I'll never grow old. So there's always that :)

Ink must flow...
Freedom to the hand!!!
This is my portfolio

The facility I was working in with clay had a kiln
that measures 29inches in height , I 've worked to
that height and if I wanted it to be taller , it
had to be in modules .
My favourite clay is raku . A dark clay that turned
peachy in colour when fired . Also , it's really good
to carve in like stone when nearly dry . Very strong material .
It's a good medium for exploring my lines , like you
said , you can view it from all angles . It's great for
anatomical studies and dealing with abstract forms ,
and those little marquettes that could stand on their
own as pieces of art ...:D

Your mind is fresh on art .- You can keep it that way ,
if you like . - 'only way to be open to new discoveries
is when you don't feel so old about the world .
Sometimes , you can really give it up when your heart in it is broken , for a moment .. - and then you bounce
back by your will because art is inherent in us ,..

For me , there is no time limit , only breaks .
When things become of high concepts , it is serious
business to tackle art that it overwhelmes your life.
And because it's also a pleasurable passage , 'needless
to say that I must take it .

So you find larger paintings are more satisfying!....It is satisfying to do large sweeping movements to start with....without the restrictions of the intricacy of small things!.........Do you draw plans at all ....or just do it!After all you can't throw it away....and start again!....suppose you can overwork it:D...solid walls must be better than floppy canvas scenery!!!
Shame you can't manage more sculpting...perhaps one day!!:)
I have carved clay...an odd head or two....but 'cause they have been in large kilns,,,with other pieces that exploded...and damaged mine I found it so frustrating!
I would love to see the terracotta army!.....such a vast undertaking and so beautiful!
